The IRS‑16 is a robust panel/snap‑in rocker switch from Elcom International, designed for switching AC loads. It supports double‑pole (DPST) switching, often with illumination, and is made for reliable performance in industrial, commercial, and electrical control applications.

• Housing / Body: Nylon 

• Knob / Rocker Cap: Nylon or Polycarbonate; available in various colours (Red, Green, Amber) for illuminated versions; non‑illuminated versions often Black etc. 

• Terminals: Brass base, silver or tin plating/over silver‑plated contacts for good conductivity and durability. 

• Contacts: Silver / Silver‑plated copper / copper alloy, to provide low resistance and good lifespan. 

• Insulating Cap / Dust Protection: Often includes a dust‑proof cap (silicone) for the rocker to prevent ingress of dust or moisture. 

• Avaliable in illuminated or non‑illuminated versions. Illuminated ones have indicator light integrated in rocker cap. 

• Gold‑plated contacts available in some variants for enhanced conductivity and resistance to corrosion. Different electrical configurations also provided (SPST, DPDT etc.), but the IRS‑16 generally refers to 16‑amp, double‑pole versions.
